I need to invest in my dream Baja California Sur modernist home near the ccean, before this 'opening up' occurs. haha.

If ever it does happen, the U.S would probably demand an increase in border security in Mexico's border with Central America. Central America currently represents the highest percentage growth of immigrants from anywhere, possibly barring Asia, and they are mostly coming through Mexico.

Mexico has gone through some huge changes, but they will probably take another 20-30 years to come to fruition. Mexico does not have to become as rich as the United States for immigration to grind to a halt, it only has to reach a level where the benefits of migration are outweighed by the expense and risk involved - which is already very high. (Is it worth it to go from making the PPP equivalent 10,000 a year to 20,000 a year in the US if a coyote costs several thousand, and you are living underground north of the border and still have to support family in the home country). That point is rapidly approaching.
