I always kind of KNEW that northern cities recruited ex-police officers from the South... every time I had an issue with police, I KNEW they were not norteños.

Seems like they get a somewhat decent remuneration package, but probably still not enough to have a comfortable life in Northern cities, which are much more expensive than Oaxaca state
