Louis CK is half Mexican. He lived in Mexico City until he was seven, and Spanish is his first language.

Wow after all this time there are still people who treat the word "Mexican" like a race or a defined ethnic group? Amazing. It's a nationality that includes a diversity like any other American immigrant nation. You can have a Mexican passport but I don't think you can have a white or black or Amerindian passport. I also don't think it is so easy to tell a persons nationality by his or her physical appearance.

Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls. She is like so pasty white. I was really shocked to hear she's half Mexican and Spanish is her first language! But of course I know there are very white people in Spain and in Mexico.

I agree. It's like saying "he's part American." Mexicans come in all colors and from all countries. The richest man in the world, who is Mexican, is of Lebanese ancestry. There is a thread on one of these forums discussing African communities in Mexico. Mexico was basically conquered by Spain centuries ago so it's no shock there are white people there. And it goes on...

It's an interesting mix, and not many people realize how many Americans have Mexican family.

By that I assume you mean family living in Mexico who are Mexican citizens.

Sure...or Mexican blood line of any race. It's not a racist wedge discussion if that's what you are implying. It's a Mexican-American discussion, meant to strengthen the bond.
