We will be moving out approx July and are wanting a rental in either Palmetto Bay or Pinecrest so our kids can get in the Miami Palmetto high school.. We are currently selling our house and eventually want to buy in these areas asswell...

However the timing would be impossible to achieve a house purchase within this time limite so we will have to rent a house first until we find our house to purchase. The problems being rentals are only offered for 1 year and I was hoping to find a house for 2 kids, 2 parents, 1 dog and 2 cats for a month to month basis....or 6 monthly rental ....which i have been told is impossible.. Does anyone know of any such offers? or websites that could help me, or any advice as to where we could stay? thanks once again guys for all your help, sooo appreciated...

Sure, you can search and maybe come across some desperate landlord trying to rent the place out, maybe he will take a month to month or a six month as long as he gets a 3 month notice before you plan on vacating, just ask, especially from private rentals.

I do not see your hurry on buying, dang, I came here thinking I was going to rent then buy, and after eight months of being here I have come to the conclusion there is no way in heck am I going to drop 20% cash and a loan for a home here. If it is not the price (which I believe is still too high everywhere), it is the insurance, taxes, and HOA's. As long as I live in Miami, I plan on being a permanent renter unless I come across a crazy deal, or I become wealthier to the point the costs does not impact me so much.

No one should ever move to a place and buy off the bat. It is really best to rent for 6 months to year to get to know the city and the different areas. It's a good thing you are going to rent OP.

Have you tried sites like realtor.com

If you're willing to rent for at least 6 months, you can consult a realtor. You won't have to pay anything for the service as normally the landlord pays.

Here's another site to look for rentals: http://hotpads.com/
