I am 24 I got into fiu with a scholarship and need to move down to Miami in august. What would be the best area to live in that is somewhat close to school but also close to nightlife and in an area where other young professionals and students live? I've read that the area around fiu is very suburban and mostly families. Can anyone recommend any specific areas or complexes that I should look into?

FIU is what we call a commuter school, so people will live all over Miami and travel to FIU to go to school. Some areas that you might try are Doral, Kendall, South Miami, Brickell and maybe South Beach if you are willing to drive a little.

How bad of a drive would it be from south beach? What about coconut grove and coral gables?
