The simple truth is that at least 65% of people in Miami are Hispanic. Meaning they have a Spanish speaking racial or cultural background. 20% of Miami residents are black and that leaves only 15% of everyone else.
White as defined by the US gov states a white person is someone who originates anywhere ranging from Europe, through the middle east, north Africa, on to Afghanistan. Yes, even central Asians are considered white.

Asians can range from Mongolia, down to Thailand, and over to India and Pakistan.

This is the US gov's definitions, which I think most people can agree are ridiculous.

Yes, Miami has plenty of diversity, exactly what more does anyone want? Equal percentages of people from every country in the world?

I believe diversity resides in culture more so than with race and ethnicity.

There's only one culture there.
Hispanic culture and hispanic-hybrid culture.
The rest are barely testimonial, less than 10 percent.
And yes, high degree of segregation.

It is very far back, I never got to see any of my polish ancestry alive. They were already dead by the time I was born.

Again, there is no balance between races in Miami. Hispanics or Latinos of any type comprise of 65% of the population. Blacks comprise of 20%. That leaves only 15% remaining for Whites (non-Hispanic), Asians, Middle Easterns, Native Americans, Europeans, etc. This is when you include Miami Beach, which is a separate city from Miami. If we exclude Miami Beach, what are those %'s? I'm guessing 75% Hispanic/Latino and 20% black. 5% everything else.

There is very little racial diversity when 75% of a city or area is one race. Now we can argue all day about how there are certain Hispanic or Latin groups that are of German ancestry or how whites in Alabama are no different than whites in Greece or Afghanistan. Those are exceptions to the rule. You all aren't convincing anyone outside of Miami that is the case.

In that "75%" you find the following races:

Caucasian
Amerindian
Mestizo (Amerindian + Caucasian)
Mulatto ( Negroid + Caucasian)
Negroid
Mongoloid
or other mixes of the above. Sambo (Amerindian with Negroid)

For example I'm Caucasian with Mongoloid. My friends who are also from South America happen to be Mestizos, pure Caucasian, Amerindians, or Mongoloids.

I understand there is tremendous racial diversity amongst these different groups. But again, they are only exceptions to the rule. Of the 75%, 95% are heavily Spanish in origin meaning they are from Spanish speaking countries. If we look around the globe, people from Spanish speaking countries make up only maybe 1/5th of the world's population. Asians make up a huge % as do Indians, Middle Easterns, and white Europeans. These huge groups of people account for 4/5th's of the world's population, but are poorly represented in Miami.

If you want to know what true diversity is, go to NYC. They have lots of everything there. In Brooklyn for example, you can drive through on one street and see 100 different types of cultures and races. One block is Chinese. The next is Russian. The next is all Orthodox Jewish. The next is all Korean. The next is all Colombian. The next is Puerto Rican. The next is Greek. The next is Irish. The next is Italian. You do not see this type of racial or cultural diversity in Miami. You see mainly two types of races, Hispanic and Black. The only diversity is amongst those two races. There is no other diversity in Miami and other groups only represent fractions of the remaining 15%.

Maybe a similar question might also have a similarly controversial answer:

Is brazil diverse?
