As a renter you won't pay property taxes nor property insurance. The owner pays for that but as we all know that just gets passed along to the renter. That is one of the main reasons why rents are so high in Miami.

The winter is so brutal here. Battle ship gray skies for months and to to top it off the people are so disingenuous. Seattle has had the best weather this week. Its hard to think of that heat and humidity if I get the job. I believe If I get a offer I will rent a room then get my own place when I get established. Thanks for advice.

I don't want to sound too negative but the people here aren't any better. Don't come here thinking that the people are going too be better because I doubt that they are. What is better is the weather of course, for some it is to hot and humid but it is still way better than in the pacific north west. During the summer it rains a lot in the afternoons but it is still sunnier than in Seattle.

People are nicer in Seattle but the weather is much more sunny here.

People are polite here but I wouldn't say nice. I lived here for over 10 years. It really hard to get a true conversation from people. Look up Seattle freeze. I rather be in the sun..

I know a professor who worked at the Miller School of medicine. It is connected to the hospital. Anyway, he said the hospital and the school are in TONS of trouble. he said the admin layoffs are just the beginning. Apparently the Dean of that school ran it into the ground with out of date ideology.

When things get so bad it is usually the fault of more than just one person. I am sure that most if not all of the upper level management as well as boards are also at fault here.
