Wow what an incredible part of town. I seriously fell in love with Miami all over again. We took about an hour to drive down from CocoPlum all the way down to Cutler Cay (not Bay). Drove back up the same way and were absolutely stunned by the area. Someone visiting Miami should make this same drive.

Old Cutler Road is my favorite road in Miami. Lots of curves and great scenery.
Seriously beautiful. My jaw was dropped from 180th all the way up until about the roundabout at CocoPlum.....so the entire trip, basically. Even my 3 year old felt "it". He just stared out of the windows (down for the drive). Amazing.
That is a very nice part of town, if you haven't yet you should visit Deering estates while the summer heat hasn't quite arrived.
They also if you noticed, have a nice bike path that my family use to ride on the weekend, where we would park at Matteson Hamock park, ride around for a bit come back and have a picnic near the marina.

If you haven't done so already, next time you make the drive, take a little side trip through the Gables By The Sea community. Some unbelievable houses in there.
Here are a couple of interesting ones currently on the market:
Old Cutler Rd. was my daily commute for some years and even though rush hour traffic was bad the scenery alone made me forget about the stress of being in bumper to bumper traffic. The atmosphere was so relaxing that I dozed off one morning and rear ended another car!
