Hi all,

I am currently looking to relocate to the Miami area for work. I know that the company I'm looking to work for is in the Coral Gables area.

I'm currently doing an apartment search, and need to find somewhere to live fairly quickly. Since I'm 24, and this is my second job outside of college, I'm hoping to find somewhere relatively affordable and in a decent neighborhood. I don't want a super long commute to work or anything, so I was hoping that you may be able to provide me with some input.

Ideally, I would like to live somewhere close to a gym, not too far from nightlife, etc. All I need is a studio apartment with just a room and small kitchen essentially. Do you have any recommendations?

Thank you!

What's your budget?

South Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove areas would keep you close to work and are all pretty good.

I'm hoping for anywhere between $600-750.

DVX1, welcome to Miami. A decent 1 bedroom will run about $1400 per month. You may be able to find a room for rent in someone's house for around $800.

I did a zillow search for rent under $800 in the Coral Gables area. Only one option, it's on someones house, $695 and you get a microwave, no cooking allowed.

You are not going to find a decent apartment anywhere near there for $750. As Ann said, you MIGHT be able to find a room in someones house for $800 and that may or may not include access to the house/kitchen. Anything anywhere near $600? Forget it.

I see a listing in Doral for $750, you get a room, for someone who has a job and works all day (it says this).
