There must be some kind of economic activity in Flint and the outlook for Flint must be good otherwise they wouldn't build a new hotel.

I was very surprised to read this. The Cincinnati area has some real job growth and far more jobs available than the Labor pool can accommodate workers. Manufacturing, warehouse and light industrial is really experiencing growth here and I am wondering if this was a contributing factor for the move to the Flint area? Likely your economy is still struggling and the availability of workers that can work in a automotive manufacturing environment may be more plentiful there. In any event, nice to see some good news for your region as well.

We are also having a serious labor shortage. At least labor who can pass a drug test. That is going to get worse here with legalization of Marijuana. There has to be some other reason for them to move production to Flint.

I read the article it's only 200 jobs. Seems like a non-story to me?

Especially since marijuana can stay in your bloodstream for a really long time and show up on a drug test, long after you're actually impaired by it.

I don't think use is going to explode now that it's legal in Michigan. Already a huge chunk of the population uses marijuana, especially the over 55 crowd for medicinal reasons. In fact, if medicinal uses grow, more people over 55 may find that they feel a lot better with arthritis and other maladies after using it.

Some Flint residents would have difficulties passing a criminal background check as well probably.

GM cutting 15, 000 jobs, including in Michigan. For every step forward we take a step back.

GM is quite obviously trying to extort more bail-out money from the Feds. Methinks they picked the wrong president to try this tactic with...
