I remember that wild rasberries were somewhat smaller than domestics. But the briars were bigger and more sharp.

Been busy with the new baby in the house, but now that she is 3 months old, I have been dragging her around a lot more this month.

Scottville has a Summerfest and part of that is the rubber ducky race. you buy a number and at race time they release the rubber duckys into the Pere Marquette River and the first one across the finish line wins a cash prize (actually the first 10 places win a cash prize and so does the last duck.)

Rubber Ducky's being dropped

Starting down river

Then of course with this heat you HAVE to hit the beach. Kind of crowded compared to usual, but with it so hot, it still is quite nice to have a LOT of beach to yourself. Just have to know where to go, to not fight the crowds.

Tonight there was a nice sunset, and we were up in Manistee so I took a shot over the public boat ramps and the Manistee River running into Lake Michigan. This was maybe 10 or 15 minutes after the sun had dipped below the horizon. Most people go home as soon as the sun sinks below the lake... then they miss this kind of color. Love Sunsets over the Lake.

Default Thanks!

Just moved back to Michigan (Grand Rapids) from Colorado. I AM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK!!! Colorado is nice and sunny, but I am a water person. Who cares about clouds when we have these beaches. And sand dunes, sunsets over the water, green grass, lush flowers, hardwood forests, fabulous fall colors, cider mills, Big 10 football, smoked whitefish, Traverse City, Saugatuck, the Grand Hotel, the Red Wings, and Tom Izzo!!!
