Our neighbor's were trying to sell their home several years ago and one couple that came in to look at their home bragged on about how he was a former CIA agent. My neighbor was telling us the story, as she felt the guy was full of B***.

The question was...if you really are a former CIA agent would you brag about it?

yes i caught a friend of mine from high school. he went on and on and on about how he was a Navy Seal and had to leave the Navy Seals because he was down in a submarine thousands of feet underwater and his knee got as big as a watermelon...i couldn't even keep a straight face when he was telling me that!

and the most hilarious part is that i KNOW for a fact that he was living in his parents' basement

Probably a combination of drugs and watching Navy SEALS, The Abyss, and GI Jane back to back.

Hey Guys,

This is a little off topic but does anyone know about Navy awards (medals) or know of a website or info source about eligibility requirements?

AMARU;
Go to U.S. NAVY VETERAN MEDAL
Status Inquiry

You will need your DD214 and Service# to get info.
Fill out the necessary info.... or

You can go to the nearest VA hospital if possible and the Veterans assistance office will put the info on the computer for you and that will result in a letter back in about 30 days or so.

They will give you an AWARDS CASE NUMBER in the letter.

It will take 6 months to get any ribbons and medals in the mail.

I went thru the Army site and found I was entitled to one extra ribbon and medal plus a Foreign country issued Unit Citation Ribbon.

Anyway go for...good luck. Steve (korea 1950-52)

I was speaking with a young man who insisted that he had been an Army MP. I asked him if he went through Basic at McClellan or Leonard Wood, and was he a Bravo, Charlie,Delta or Echo and had he been 95 or did he go in as a 31? His answer was "huh?"

Then he went on to tell me about how great his 'job' was since he got to strip search female soldiers for traffic stops! Finally, I told him that I had been an MP and that my hubby had been an MP for 23 years- and not once have we EVER strip searched a member of the opposite sex. His answer? He was in a "special" unit. Jeez.
