  2. Traffic not bad even at peak compared to other cities
  3. Gentrification/revitalization
  4. Close proximity to Chicago
  5. Surrounding areas offer nice getaways/scenery
Five Cons
  1. It's a small town that thinks it's a big city
  2. It's a big city that thinks it's a small town
  3. It's a medium sized city unsure of where it's going
  4. Jobs leaving (negates #3 above)
  5. Lack of good shopping

...and Scott Walker would be a near-Top 5'er for me (on the good side)! So I guess different strokes for different folks.

Good
Low cost of living for a city

Very liveable for a city (If I was forced to live in a city in the midwest, south, or east I'd pick Milwaukee)

min traffic for a city

number or trails & parks in the city and especially just outside the city

So much to do, something for everyone

Bad
Attitudes of people in the suburbs, and rascism of Milwaukee

Materialistic folks

Potholes and crappy streets (especially the north side), this isn't solely because the winter, because Kenosha has good streets

our accent

downtown folks elitist attitude

I’m with the NYC board. Grew up in Chicago, moving to NYC in January. Lived here since 04.
(1)
Don’t like that there is no commuter rail system. Any rail system in Milwaukee whether it be rapid transit, light rail, or commuter rail would be a tremendous boost to (re) stimulate the growth in this city. Imagine in winter coming in to your job downtown from OC, Brookfield and so on, breezing past the snow jammed expressways and streets. Busses unable to get you to your destination on time, but that’s no big deal anymore, because your riding a warm, comfortable MCTS train.
(2)
I love driving over the Hone Bridge.
(3)
East Side, awesome!
(4)
Milwaukee is a nice city in it’s own right. It is nice to be so close to Chicago and all it’s amenities. Although, at times I feel I detect some underlying (at times outright) animosity, possibly even jealously (?) toward Chicago and it’s citizens. What’s with that?
(5)
The people are nice. Many though, when they realize where I’m from give me the ”look at the FIB (hey) gaze. I honestly don’t take any offense though. I just figure they’re Brim’s (born and raised in Milwaukee) and just don’t know any better.
(A) WHERE'S THE BUBBLER HEY ?......LOL...

dislikes- tries to and claim waukesha as a suburb i hate that and other towns that are a zillion miles away.

now compaing it to chicagoland all those cities in chicagoland whether 30 minutes away or 45 are accessible by either yellow and or purple line el trains or the Metra(which is cheap) we dont have anything like that here.

-boring downtown
-lack of/ slow building mke up- if we want the city to get better mke has to change but there are those officials who want to remain the same(tom barret) even mayor norquist stated he tried to get urbanization of milwaukee but i guess it fell on def ears.

-if mke was where kenosha is itd be a better city becase then we'd have more access to the big city of the midwest by taking the METRA TRAIN!

-lack of housing for the maybe mke should look at how other places are set up tpo improve publica housing theres no reason for over 100,000 ppl to be on waiting list to get in low income apartments.

i think we should build up as in high rise butnot too high.
No internet Cafes...WHEN I VISITED NY i always checked out the internet cafe by grand central station and ate a snack/food while there

likes...
summerfest.
lack of sport parks everything dont have to be in the hood(basketball courts)
sport teams

to me i think there should be more..
i dont know maybe im asking for too much for a medium size city(sq miles) with under 600,000 ppl
