When I was in high school, many parts of my school's building were deemed outdated, and we built a fancy new addition and upgraded the rest of the building. To justify the request for a levy, the school district supplied itemized lists about what was outdated, how they wanted to fix it, and the cost of the fix. We didn't tear down what we already had. We improved it. And the new addition, instead of convoluting the layout, actually improved the navigation and appearance of the school.

NOWHERE have I seen this, and I use the Metrodome and Target Center along with everyone else. If the argument is going to be made to use public money, I want some supporting evidence and data. Ya know, accountability.



So basically, the argument is that we should build what is equivalent to a glorified shopping mall with public money? So I can buy a gourmet hot dog? THIS is the best argument being made? Sounds like corporate welfare, to me.

Well, there just aren't enough shopping malls within about 3 blocks of the Target Center. We can always use another shopping mall.
