Yes, Mayor....I'm sure MPD is just tripping over themselves to run out and enforce your edict after all the support you've given them since you took office.

Unbelievable.

Absolutely. It's a very racist country, all the way around, actually. You should have seen how they treated the "caravans" when they were waiting at the border, in their towns. "GO HOME!!!" and "WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE!!" was the consensus there.

You are confused. No countries in Latin America have ever allowed unfettered immigration like the US has, and everyone of them has responded to the coronavirus crisis by closing their borders.

The 5th Minnesotan has died.

https://www.startribune.com/minnesot...-19/569190002/

Unless you grasp exponents and exponential growth, you won't understand the Gov's order. This virus has a long infection period from the point of infection to symptoms (if any). The people that are dying now were probably infected weeks ago (2-4).

Follow the data nationally and it will give you an idea about what is coming. Just remember it starts slow (New York had only 1 death as of March 1 or 2). There is good news because I've been watching California and the deaths have been far less and don't seem to growing like New York.

as of this moment, total US deaths so far from Corona is 1878.
These are the deaths by day.
March 22 (113)
March 23 (141)
March 24 (225)
March 25 (247)
March 26 (268)
March 27 (401)
March 28 (?)

Graphically, this would look the right half of the letter U (days on X axis and deaths on Y axis). If you have a graphing calculator put in f(x)=x^2 (the ^2 is the exponent). This should help you understand the situation better. The big jump yesterday, both nationally and locally, is not good news.

Neither of us had our heads adjusted to stop and think that both of our guesses would be unlikely right now. But as they approached we saw what those rambunctious, stir-crazy kids were up to.

They had signs on their cars reading, "Stay Healthy!" and "We Miss You!" What a good laugh they gave us and I'm sure they cheered a lot of people that gloomy afternoon.
Cool. Like to hear stories like that. Kids have been drawing with chalk on the sidewalks writing positive messages. Also, kids are putting bears in the windows and are encouraged to count the number of bears as people walk around.

Also, our immediate neighbors are staying in contact with each other(text and zoom). We are watching over an older couple that has had some health issues.

not to worry
President Romper Room says it will just disappear in the next day or two and then the golf courses can open back up

Despite all the media hype of roads being blocked going down to Nogales, MX and closed borders, I was just down there yesterday for dental work and buying meds. It's just as normal/civilized down there as it was 6 months ago. Seniors from Green Valley and Tucson and elsewhere in the lobby of Laser Dental, no fear at all.

Essential services: dental/medical/prescription drugs. No problem!

Just like when they ordained you need a passport to go into a Border town. Completely unenforceable. No, you don't need a passport to visit a Border town, but you do need one if you're flying into Mexico or you travel more than 16 miles south of the Border.

Tijuana and San Diego are joined at the hips. Poor people who can't afford the sky-high rents in San Diego, some elect to get a cheap apartment in Tijuana and go back and forth across the Border every day. Biomed companies in San Diego have manufacturing facilities in Tijuana and there's Dr.'s that have dual offices in both San Diego and Tijuana.

And what about the homeless who don't even have a home? Stay home? You mean in my tent underneath a freeway ramp?

The 9th Minnesotan has died.

As of this moment, total US deaths so far from Corona is 2389.
These are the deaths by day.
March 22 (113)
March 23 (141)
March 24 (225)
March 25 (247)
March 26 (268)
March 27 (401)
March 28 (525)
March 29 (?)

Let's look at the states bordering us as of 3/28. The number inside the parenthesis represent deaths.

South Dakota (1)
North Dakota (1)
Iowa (3)
Wisconsin (15)

Another concern is the return of "snow birds". They will be coming from Arizona and Florida (some from Texas and Mexico). Testing, Testing, Testing. and Ventilators will be key to mitigate the damage.

Stay safe everyone. Hope all are well.
