What's going to happen next? You think these cops are going to become weaker on violent crime considering the enormous liability that now plagues officers?

It is horrible. Minneapolis, however, isn't the only US city faced with this issue.

Why is it horrible? Zookeepers dont live with the animals right? Find out what city has an overwhelming police force residing in it? Maybe Mayberry?

I’d like to think the NW burb I live in keeps a lot of our PD members around but I really don’t know. We LOVE our PD and they do a dang good job which I imagine is partially due to the support they are given.

I wouldn't live there either if I were them in this far left city. You know damn well the "word" would get out where the cops live and they and their family would not be safe.

In fact, I'm heartened that city council is looking at disbanding the MPD and replacing it with a better organization.
I read...then reread what you wrote. My friend, you have NO idea what's coming next. The things going on - the bad things - within the department are because of the leadership of that department, not the "line cop" out there putting his butt on the line for you and yours every stinkin' day. Those bureaucrats will be the same ones "engineering" whatever nightmarish Keystone Non-Kops evolves. In the meantime, the criminal element (of which you are so blissfully unaware because of the very officers you're prepared to throw under the bus have kept away from you) is preparing to go absolutely beserk in your city. It likely won't happen overnight, but if the city maintains their current decision to disband the PD, it WILL become your worst nightmare. In the meantime, you'd BEST own (or buy) a gun, and KNOW how to use it - because response times are about to become hours vs minutes.

Yea, you nailed it. I really didn't know how to respond to mr cpa. Riding around on his bicycle all privileged like. lol Completely oblivious of the underbelly element. Why? Police of course. After dealing with knuckleheads all day the last thing an officer wants to do is go home to them. Then again maybe it's due to salary? kind of like NYC, many cannot afford to live within NYC. So they live out in the burbs. Same in Minneapolis maybe? The only affordable housing might be in the very areas they see crime?
