Yep. Obama is yet another conservative blue-dog who ran on a liberal platform to get elected. Honestly, he has been almost like a third term of Bush. This is not the change I wanted.

You have earned a rep point. I agree 100%. Obama is a clone of Reagan....only Obama isn't willing to raise taxes like Reagan did.

You do know that the top income tax rate was slashed by more than half during Reagan's years as president...?

Obama is too much of a centrist. The only presidential candidates that I have supported in recent years are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

He took the US from the worlds largest creditor to the worlds largest debtor. Reagan raised taxes several times: he increased the SS payroll tax, required higher income seniors pay taxes on their benefits, required the self-employed to pay the full payroll tax rate, eliminated many tax breaks and shelters, raised corporate taxes by $120b over 5 years and closed $300b in loopholes

Deficit Reduction Act of 1984
repealed scheduled 15% net interest exclusion ($900 cap)
reduced benefits from income averaging
reduced tax benefits for property leased by tax exempt entities
temporarily extended telephone excise tax (through 1987)
increased depreciation lives for real property from 15 years to 18 years
