How big does a town have to be to be considered a "city" in Mississippi, anyway?

Take a look at Delta City:

What's everyone's opinion of Meridian? I know the west side of its downtown looks like it was bombed out by the Luftwaffa or something, but there are a few sections that are actually pretty decent. Seems like there is a robbery every day in that city and all the smart people and good talent usually leave the city, but could it make the list of worst cities?

DeKalb in Kemper County was a very depressed looking town, I could hardly get a cell signal in that area. I remember reading a statistic that the public school system there was 98% black, I think there may have been a small private academy, either that or the white residents of Kemper County sent their kids to a private school in Meridian. It was depressing passing through Kemper County, the area was labeled a food desert due to a serious lack of any nutritious foods offered at the grocery store.

Yeah. That place sucks as well.

If they could make something that could turn Mississippi into a real life SimCity, I would improve this state a lot. I'd probably have to use cheat codes for the Delta cities and our state's capital, but i wouldn't care.

You know, there are mods out there where you can do that in regular Sim City but with places like New Orleans, even modded to where swaths of buildings are abandoned!

Sounds a lot like someone who's never visited Mississippi.

You clearly have not been to Mississippi. Come on by and visit someday. You will be proved that it isn't as bad as you think.

Exactly!

I've seen the good AND bad of Mississippi.

Look at towns like Vicksburg and Natchez, and compare them to Senatobia and Batesville, and then compare those to the likes of Oxford, Holly Springs and Corinth.

Lots of different flavors there.
