.....and I'm of the opinion that they would be welcomed into Mississippi. We have cheap land, come on down, I say. Why buy into overpriced markets in Texas and Tennessee?

I think you’re starting to see some movement. Last year, a noted Catholic high school theology teacher and apologist moved his family from Bakersfield, California to Mississippi. They seem to be happy with the move.

Wow, sacreole. You know about that? Some serious "inside baseball" stuff, lol. You should post in the Christianity sub-forum, very few of us Catholics there!

Be very careful of what you wish for.

Yes. Be very careful. Californians have been known to bring their political, and economic ideologies along with them. This video is NOT an exaggeration.

I would recommend just two Mississippi towns for Californians - Oxford and Starkville. Smallish but prosperous college towns.

I'd have to disagree. Oxford is cliquish and small with not much opportunity if you're not connected to the university. The Golden Triangle, maybe; but would be a huge culture shock.

The coast would provide the easiest transition for someone from CA, in my opinion.

The only thing worse than being invaded by Californians would be being invaded by pale, beady eyed, scraggly, long haired fat legged gingers.

When I was an Ole Miss student 1989-1993, Oxford was a nice town but not necessarily a bustling one except during home football games. After I graduated, the money and people started pouring in. Now it’s population is over double what it was in 2000.

I know it has grown, but it's still cliquey...and after all, double 13,000 is still only 26,000.
