I have heard that restaurants in Oxford don't take reservations for the night of graduation, Saturday, May 7. Does anyone know which restaurants will take reservations? I would prefer to know that a table will be waiting for us rather than having to spend what could be more than an hour wait. Last year, we chose to eat fast food rather than wait. We want to plan ahead this year.

Our family would prefer a fine dining restaurant. But with so many people in town trying to get dinner, I can be flexible.

What experiences do any of you have for graduation night dinner in Oxford?

We just moved from Oxford. And I have a son at Ole Miss. I had no idea that restaurants didn't take reservations on graduation day.

Did you try City Grocery? 208?

I haven't tried anywhere yet. My information may very well be wrong. I'm trying to get our daughter to pick where she wants to go as it will be her day. She is there in Oxford and knows the restaurants better than I do, so it seemed straightforward for her to make the reservations.

I've heard her mention those two. Once before we went to a pizza place on the square, but I wasn't very impressed. I really want to know where we are going, because last year it was crazy.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Ask her if Yacona River is back open after the fire. They are a fine dining place just outside of town. If they take reservations, it would be a great option, though it isn't possible to avoid crowds.

I don't mind the crowds. I just want to know that I have a table waiting for us in the middle of it all.

Fortunately, her (soon-to-be) fiancé has taken over the reservations. I don't know if he's found anything, but if anyone can, he will be able to.

I'll ask about Yacona River. I wasn't sure if we will be able to go out of town or not. It sounds delightful.
