There are tons of links out there to help a person find info about an area they are considering moving to. Here are some for Southwest Missouri and most can be used for all 50 states

Researching schools? Here are the Missouri Public School Rankings Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Missouri Public School Rankings

Researching home prices? Here are your average home prices for every month since 2006 in the counties surrounding the Springfield area (for those who don't see their county assessment drop, this in very interesting) Annual Statistics

Want to know what counties have the best employment rates? Local Area Unemployment Statistics Home Page Look toward the bottom for databases and create customized maps.

This graph from November is very telling about wealth - on a county level Food Stamp Usage Across the Country - Interactive Map - NYTimes.com

Bored and want to listen to some Missouri scanners? Live Police, Fire, and EMS Scanners on RadioReference.com

For those missing home most Springfield area radio stations are live online

Yes - our out of state relatives were quick to remind us a few weeks back that they have higher aspirations in life than fixing their teeth if they ever win the Powerball!!
