Recently back from south MO and north AR and we couldn't help but notice there weren't as many mosquitoes as we recall or, at least, we didn't get bit as much even though we were cabin camping by lakes and rivers. Lots of other bites though. My wife claims it's the soap we've been using (with tea tree oil). Is it us or are there fewer skeeters this year?

I have seen very few in South Central Missouri. Surprising, because we have had a lot more rain than usual.

Recently moved to Grandview, MO, from Dodge City, KS. Mosquitos are alive and well on the Kansas side, Dodge City. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it rained cats and dogs every 3 days or so, either. Wow - it was truly a job on the side of my paying work to keep the large front, side and back yard mowed so that it wasn't too long between mows. My yard in the KC Metro here is a piece of cake. Been here a bit over a week and the lawn is doing that "bake in the sun" thing and not growing. Nice. Brown for color is fine with me for a summer lawn - heck, I lived in Arizona for a while!

But mosquitos here in the KC Metro - Missouri side of the border - not bad at all. They're there - but not in hoardes.
