This is such a big festival, I think it deserves it's own thread! Saturday, Oct 18 in Carthage will be the biggest parade in the 4-state area. We will once again lead off with the Budweiser Clydesdales, and they have LIMITED the parade entries to 200 this year (not sure if that includes bands or not). The parade starts at 9:00. At 2 pm the world famous Marching Cobras will perform at the High School Auditorium. Immediately following the parade, there will be food, crafts, entertainment and the FFA petting zoo on the square, as well as an Auto Show at the CMC Complex. At 1pm there will be a kids dog show at Central Pet Care. There will be an Antique Car and Tractor show in Central Park. The Marching Band Competition will be from noon to 10pm at the Jr. High stadium. The White Rose Winery, just outside town, will have a Celtic Wine Festival from noon to dusk with winery tours, grape stomping and tasting. The weather is supposed to be nice, even if the trees haven't fully turned yet, so COME ON OUT AND JOIN THE FUN!

This is a great festival. I have been the past four years. We go to the square and goof around. We meet family and grab an early lunch there at one of the vendors. It has a real hometown feel and is an all together good time. Definately worth the trip!

Look for me in the Parade, I will be handing out candy and my hubby will be driving the truck for the Carthage Municipal Dog Park float, #34. Afterward, I will be on the square for a while at the Dog Park Booth to sell homemade treats, bandanas and t-shirts. We will be on the grass around the courthouse. Doc, don't those GSD's need some new neckwear?
