Martial Arts Experts versus Thug. (fight)

I was wondering what technique uses this guy. It seems Kung Fu, but I am not certain. Do you think he had it easy becayse the thug was an airhead? I mean, those moves looked very simple, would a martial arts expert win a fight so easily? Have a look:

There are about 10 different versions of explanation for this video. The most common claim is wing chun if I remember. The "thug" if I remember was actually a family member or the guys girl or an ex of hers or something. The "thug" is clearly drunk or on something, he is somewhat stumbling the whole time. The "martial artist" doesn't have to be trained well in this case. The way he's standing had the "thug" been sober, I would venture to say he would get easy shots in on the other guy.
