So lately I've seen circulating on the news and Facebook on just how expensive it is to move out of California. To move out of San Fransisco to Mobile costs nearly $4000 and visa versa is only about $800 using a U-Haul. This is the same for everywhere in California

Since the first public look at the park at Brookley field is this weekend, what are some things y’all would like the park to have?

1)A pier similar to the one in Fairhope but on a larger scale, kayak and paddle boat rentals, and maybe an observational wheel.

Or

2) a pier like the one in Fairhope but on a larger scale with boat rentals like they do on crab Island with a river walk type of shopping complex.

^ I like both ideas, but definitely needs a big pier and a ramp for boats and kayaking

So renting a U-Haul in California is 5 times the cost if renting the same in Mobile? Amazing.

Look at what was at the historic Monroe Park.in Mobile before a hurricane destroyed it.

I think the city should bring this back. The article also mentioned that Former Mayor Dow wanted to build the Hank at Monroe Park. Imagine the views of the bay at the Hank.

I’m definitely in support of a more classical design for the park that includes stuff for everyone. I think one problem is that Monroe park was privately owned and charged a fee for entry to get people on the street car system that he also owned. Unless the city entered a public private partnership with someone to build some of that stuff, I could easily see how they’d basically make it a barebones regular park
