They did. It didn’t matter. They even invited Fred Richardson Manzie CJ small and other black leaders who were pushing against it to their neighborhoods they drove them around showed them the subdivisions, showed them the shopping centers, and explained what they had to offer. It didn’t matter. The opposition was purely political. Fred refused to go.

But could be different as the council has had a mix up and Fred is gone. Plus the anti-annexation Candidates lost the mayors race big time.

If Mobile can annex the tracts directly adjacent to sollie-cody rds from Airport to Three Knotch, it alone would add a little less than 17 thousand people to the city. The next layer of tracts to even it out more (some tracts are sticking out more than others, this would add 2 more tracts) Would bring up the total to 28,000 people (this encompasses Airport-Dawes-Three Notch-Sollies/Cody roads) with every single tract growing significantly right now

There are reports that Manzie has passed away sadly. So those that mean that Carrol will automatically get district 1 now ?

Looks like William Carroll is the new District 2 representative and Scott Jone is the new District 6 representative, looks like all that is left is Penn vs Thomas
