What is going on with the grizzly population? Are folks in the park that careless?

Probably from NYC, or something. They think that the animals at the park are like looking at animals at the zoo. I once saw a guy, with a telephoto lens...bigger than my arm...get closer and closer to a Mama bear and two cubs. I seriously thought I was going to see a mauling. Idiot.

Saw deer today, and rabbits, the rabbit was starting to go white a bit...snow soon.

There is a nip in the air. Even the "warm" days are cooler. I love fall, I hate fall. As far as the bear problems. People don't realize they are causing it. We are IN their area. We saw bear up in the Bob Marshall but they avoided us like we like to avoid them. Just need to heed to the food/bear rules!!

(The implication here is that he was not an experienced gun handler & certainly lacked "common sense" in choosing to show off this new shotgun in a university parking lot........(there are very strict regulations governing where and how students can have hunting firearms on campus)....

The student(age 19) who was shot was wounded in the hand, was treated at St Pat's Hosp and released.

The student (age 20) who fired the gun has been charged with negligent endangerment.......the police are convinced it was a "pure accident" caused by improper and careless gun handling.

The wounded student was standing adjacent to the car that had two of it's windows blown out.

An unfortunate incident for all concerned...................nothing more,....nothing less.............buy certaintly preventable.
Unfortunate is right....... I am not kidding......when you FIRST check in, they ask if you have any firearms.......that kid should have checked it in instead of showing it off.....

Thanks for the follow-up, MG......

My dog LOVES bully sticks......they are tough, like rawhide......great protein, I guess. They soften up quite a bit though, so we have to take them from him when they are just a few inches long......

Oh, a bully stick is straight and long........it could easily be a pool cue..... At specialty, (aka, overpriced), pet stores, (not stores like Petsmart, but unique stores that even have doggie shampoo showers in the back that you can rent), they are at least 48 inches long, and they saw them in sections for you.......HOWEVER, we found them at Costco now.....each one is over a foot or so long, already cut.....

Bought snow tires today, they are on sale until September 11th. Tried to find a snow remover/ice scraper for my car, can't find one any place. Wal-Mart and Target think we are still swimming up here...but some people are, went over and saw lots of people at the lake today...swimming away...in swimsuits...

Costco got in these new "fleece" sheets, pretty darn nice.
