Glendive is kind of short on national chain restaurants anymore. McDonalds closed a while back. You have Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen, Taco Johns, and Subway. Other than that, you have your local haunts as MT 7 noted.

It has to be storming pretty fiercely for the schools to be dismissed. In my opinion, take it for what it's worth, the local schools are pretty decent. They're not perfect but generally don't have some of the problems that you hear about in the big cities.

Electrical power rates around here are about $.07 to .08 per KwH at present. I typically pay around $85 to $140 per month just for electric. One factor that comes into play up here though is the cold winters and the cost of heating the house. In the town of Glendive, most people heat with natural gas and the price of that can fluctuate. Whatever the heating method, it is a very significant budget item in addition to the normal utilities. I find that it costs me far far more to heat the house in the winter than it does to cool it in the summer.

The power is fairly reliable, with your occasional outages from winter ice storms, summer thunder storms and high winds, etc.

Here is a link to the local newspaper, The Ranger Review. There are a few rentals in the classifieds. The Glendive Ranger Review

First of all Glendive is beatifull Makoshika state park ranks pretty high with WOW factor saw allot of fossils just laying in washouts in the foot hills.
secondly Schools are great teachers arent all worn out and mean, and still give a crap.
lots of public land to hunt lots of game.
there is some vacant land up by the state park for sale, houses with acreage look to be about 150-250k better off buying 20 acres and going with a modular if on the cheap. Though BNSF is a good paying job.
The People here are absolutley the salt of the earth, cant pull over to pee without someone stopping to see if your OK Im in baker but may be moving that way or towards sidney.
