Here is where I have ordered it in the past. We grew up making it, you had to have a mean streak in you, as the myth goes, to make really good jars of it.

made some pepper jelly a couple years ago. Kids said, "Damnit dad, you died it green." I said, yeah, it's pepper jelly. It should be green. They liked it though.

[goes off, looks up recipes]

Couldn't decide if this was pepper like green peppers, jalepenos, or black pepper (which was what my brain thought it should be). Seems it's green peppers plus whatever else you want. A typical recipe contains:

3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh hot green pepper, such as jalapeno or serrano
1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
6 cups sugar
4 ounces pectin (recommended: Certo)
4 drops green food coloring

Here's one that's not hot:
RED PEPPER JELLY

4 lg. red bell peppers (about), seeded
5 1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. fresh lemon juice
1 pkg. fruit pectin
3/4 c. distilled white or wine vinegar

Here's 164 Pepper Jelly recipes!

I still think black pepper jelly sounds like fun ... well, here it is, from France!! Confitures et gelées de La Lorien. (http://www.lalorien.com/boutique.php?chglang=1 - broken link)

And while I was (vainly) looking for that recipe, I found a reference to curry ice cream

I mentioned onion jelly?? And here's another one using red onions. And here's a few more that sound interesting. And one that the maker raved about.

Pepper jelly should be available at your grocery store - among the jams and jellies. I love spreading a saltine cracker with cream cheese and then putting some pepper jelly on top. The combo of the sweet, hot jelly on top of the cream cheese is wonderful! A good snack with an ice cold beer...
