Ive researched and found that while some restaurants serve seafood theres no equivalent in Quebec to Red Lobster, which is odd as there used to be Red Lobster franchises and they were all packed

Is there really no Red Lobster in Montreal? Or Quebec at all? I seem to recall seeing commercials for their restaurants on TV when I was a kid. Maybe I'm wrong.

None.

None in BC either. They just have them in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.

Their commercials look great but its a long drive to Ottawa to satiate the need for their product. although i went this past weekend to the Red Lobster in eastern Ottawa, the place was packed took us 2 hours to finally get parked and seated. Was it worth the hassle? probably not but the lobster was great and the steak was cooked to perfection. looked like this =

There used to be one in LaSalle (corner of Newman and Shevchenko) 25 years ago. Ate there a couple of times when I lived in that area.

I applied for work there back in the late 80s but it was a split shift so No! I use to eat at one downtown below St. Catherine Street. There was one on Decarie too on the East side of that street.

I read many years ago that they left Quebec. In fact they left ages ago. Maybe by around 93 but I'm not sure of the year. My Mom was so disappointed.

They left Quebec completely about 25 years ago I think. The Gatineau location was not too far from where I live now.

Red Lobster decided to close its Quebec restaurants in 1997 (September) because they had been losing money for too long. The chain seems to do well elsewhere. There must be something peculiar to the Quebec market.
