Hello,
I am 22 years old and I live outside of New York City. I am very interested in moving to Montreal. I am a gymnast and a dancer as well and I can speak some french, enough to get by. I visited Montreal a few years back and fell in love with the culture and what it had to offer. Everything I want is in Montreal - they have wonderful dance programs, gymnastic schools to train, *affordable* rent!!!! It's just wonderful. The people were great, opened minded, etc. I am a fan, Montreal!
However, how on earth do I get there?
I want to continue going to school, train in dance & gymnastics, continue to learn french...
So here are my questions....
1. Are there any programs like "community college" in Montreal as we have here in USA?
2. Can I be an "international transfer student" without it costing me an arm and a leg and so I do not have to get Quebec residency?
3. To get a job (even serving at a restaurant), MUST I speak french fluently? Are there any english-speaking jobs?
Someone please help me out. I am planning to do this within the next year.... merci beaucoup
