Good mention. The top two movies that come to my mind for mood-ruining are Martyrs and Salo.
I have never heard of martyrs? I would check it out but if you mentioned it in the same sentence as salo i woud probably not want to watch it. Is it as disgusting as salo?

Not disgusting in Salo sense. Just brutal what a girl had to endure throughout most of the movie and it was depressing and left an uneasiness in my stomach...which is hard to do because I enjoy horror/horror-type movies, and after all, they are just movies, but those two do stand out it terms of uneasiness feeling. The Martyrs movie I'm talking about came out in 2008, directed by Pascal Laugier.
Do Começo Ao Fim
Pronounced: DOO CU-MESS-EW. AW-OH FeeNG.
This is the most twisted movie Ive seen in a really long time. Was flipping around YouTube tonight and came across it.
Its a shame that most of you don't understand Portuguese cause this is a brilliant(but very disturbing movie). What's most interesting is how beautifully its made-the acting and cinematography and score are all superb. The directing is incredible. Rio de Janeiro as a backdrop is perfect. At first I saw some previews and thought," wow, two hot Brazilian guys" and then when I actually started watching it quickly turned into something completely different. This movie actually lulls you in such a way that you almost forget that this is something that is utterly horrific and a social NO of the highest proportions.
YouTube - Do Começo Ao Fim
I sat through the entire movie and too be honest, I feel dirty and almost want to take a shower to scrub away the icky feeling I have.
YouTube - HAPPINESS - Trailer ( 1998 )
Not distrubing in a spooky, death sort of way... disturbing in an "oh jesus christ no, no... ugh" sort of way. If the film doesn't make you feel uncomfortable, there's probably something wrong with you.
Rosewood - I went through a "I hate white people" phase for a few weeks after seeing it.
Jacob's Ladder - Demon sex on the dance floor. I was weak for the rest of the movie.
Eye For an Eye - The first 5 minutes. 'Nuff said
Requiem for a Dream - I felt high after watching the movie.
Showgirls - I was never able to look at Jessie Spano [Saved by the Bell] the same way again.
