Do you have any movie characters that you find yourself strangely attracted to, who aren't necessarily "sexy" or "attractive"? I'm not even talking about the actor/actress who plays them, just the character.

Mine's Professor Snape in the Harry Potter movies! I'm not especially attracted to Alan Rickman (except his voice), and there's no way they intended the character of Snape to be attractive at all. But I dig him; I can't help it. Even when I read the books, I pictured him like in the movies and not as described in the books.

Second on my list is John Malkovich's creepy character in the movie In the Line of Fire. He's a trained assassin-turned-psycho obsessed with killing the president and toying with Clint Eastwood's character, a Secret Service agent. He's a creepy, scary, dangerous, evil guy, but I'm oddly attracted to him, against my normal judgement and inclinations.

Anyone else like this, or am I just a weirdo?

You're a weirdo, without a doubt.

And welcome to the club!

I always find Alan Rickman, when he's playing the baddie, to be so much more interesting than the hero. Just look at Die Hard or Robin Hood. I usually find the "sidekick" character more fun to watch too, such as Steve Zahn in Sahara or Simon Pegg in Mission Impossible.

Well...I just saw In the Line and can't agree there but I do know what you mean! Maybe that character's high level of intelligence/ confidence got you...?

I seem to be attracted by those that do "the right thing" in the end...as in LA Confidential, Russell Crowe's character as a cop started out a little iffy but he ended up almost the only one in the film to make a stand for truth & justice. An odd character strong in integrity = attractive

Oh, I forgot, if we extend this to TV, I have a "thing" for Data on Star Trek the Next Generation!

I may be a freak.

But a guy I'm friends with has this weird thing for comedian Sandra Bernhard. She's not considered pretty, and she's gay, but he's like "she just does it for me".

Maybe you're onto something here: super intelligance or super-ability (though not a superhero) can describe Snape, Data, and the creepy Malkovich character.

Self-analyzing now...

OK: let's face it: sometimes she looks downright retarded.

But for some reason, the DrummerBoy has had a sneaker for this woman for a looong time now:

I found myself "strangely attracted to" Adrian (Talia Shire) in the original Rocky movie.
