I saw it today, too...quite long, though.

And Javier Bardem was an excellent bad guy...

I won't say anymore about the film, until more people have seen it. It only opened today my Birthday. I will say the ending was very sad. I didn't expect it.

I hope everyone that sees Skyfall will enjoy it.

Skyfall was way better than Quantum Solace, but not as good as Casino Royale. Skyfall's villain was creepy, excellent yet you could sympathize with him.

There is this one scene that I won' t go into detail, but it was quite shocking yet funny at the same time. Very daring. You may love it, you may hate it, depending on your views.

Yeah, this is my prediction about Skyfall. It's between the previous 2.
The Bond girls are not as good as before for the recent 2. After Eva Green, they fail to attract some famous actresses to play Bond girls.

Saw the movie over the weekend and came away thinking it could have been a lot better. It felt rushed, the storyline was pretty sloppy and the overall flow of the movie was not that good. I am however hopeful for the next one where it is setting up nicely.

Thunderball and Goldeneye are still the top 2 imo.

Saw it Sat, I'm with you, could have been better, felt like I saw it all before. Bad guy seem almost comical. I did enjoy the first hour very much, but after that, sort of nodded off a bit. The scene with Craig in the chair, was quite interesting touch, but the scene with him tied to a chair, was so much more tense and entertaining in Royal. The movie was long, but too much as TAM88 menttioned seem rushed, stories undeveloped and I just didn't buy Javier as having been a former agent to begin with. Frankly, his character reminded me too much of Heath Ledger's Joker character.

I am a huge Bond fan and I was disappointed with this movie on so many levels, I don't know where to start:[
]
This is possibily the worst Bond film to date. I expect more from Bond! I'm not saying this is a bad film. It's beautifully shot, has some decent action sequences, and explores new and interesting sides to a very well known character. But there's far too many problems with it and it is not up there with the best Bond movies For all these years we got entertained by the action, the women, the guns, the gadgets, the cars, the humor, the villains, the locations, the opening/closing credits and the theme songs. This formula worked for them for 5 decades. Why change now??? Bond is who he is because of how he was earlier and how we grew up watching him. For all the kids in this generation this Bond is no more different than any other action film character.

Screenwriters that, without a Fleming book as their guide, were devoid of inspiration. The biggest failing of this film was the plot. It went from a mission to recover a stolen hard-drive to a mission to protect M (who could've easily been killed several times). As for the motive, fairly tenuous and uninteresting.

There weren't any cool gadgets, the only thing they showed was a gun that only Bond can fire and a crappy distress radio transmitter, it’s like Q's gadgets budget went nickle and dime. Q 's gadgets are absolutely depressing. It's actually a joke in the movie how ordinary Q's inventions are. Why is this good? Remember those whimsical and funny contrivances Q had that would help Bond out of a fix in an amusing or novel way? Yet they decided that wasn't necessary here. So what's the point of having Q at all?

Daniel Craig is just so haggard he looks worse than the villain. It's time to replace him with someone younger and handsomer. Baffled by the good reviews

Berenice Marlohe is exotic and fascinating to look at. But why only one Bond girl? Writing her out of the show so early and not having another was a mistake. There were not enough femme fatales in the sequence, which is a mistake. I'm sorry but the whole concept of Bond is the male fantasy - beautiful women, cars, guns, parties, beaches, gambling, etc. Traditionally, the sequence features femme fatales more strongly - it's the juxtaposition of beauty and death. To replace this theme with anything else means you don't get it.

I loved it!

Stepping away from the formulaic , actually developing characters, appreciating the depth of the relationship M had with her agents, not just Bond, brings up the level of the franchise. It's not a video game, and I think that most people appreciate having their emotions engaged.

Daniel Craig is haggard. He's the sexiest haggard man ever. The fact that sexy men get worn out, have scars, have doubts, makes the character of Bond less virtual reality, less video game. At the same time, jumping onto a moving train, and then, insouciantly checking your cuff while striding confidently forward to confront your opponent, that's darn sexy!

And the camera work was ethereal. Photography deserves an Oscar. Breathtaking.

I saw an interview where the age of the Bond character was brought up. Daniel Craig came right out and said. If he were to find out that a good majority of movie viewers found him to old to play Bond. Then that would be it, he would end his James Bond career when his contract was up. I don't know if he included Haggard with old. I guess thats a personal opinion. Personally I don't find him to old or haggard at all. Hell the guy is only 44 years old. He hardly look old and out of shape for the Bond character. Granted he is not the suave James Bond of before and thats fine. I think he does just fine in the role but we all have our own opinion. I know Skyfall broke all kinds of records for a Bond Fiilm in its first weekend showing.

Saw the movie, thought it was fair. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Did anyone else notice that Bond utterly failed every single mission he was given in this movie and the bad guy got exactly what he wanted?

Retrieve the HDD: Failed - He was shot by his own support.

Pass a Fitness For Duty Evaluation: Failed - M pulled a lot of strings to get him approved.

Interrogate the Assasin: Failed - He killed him before getting any questions answered. It was only by pure luck that he happened across a clue that let him later fall into the villian's trap.

Stop the HDD From Being Decrypted: Failed - Names of NATO agents were released on the web.

Capture the Villian: Failed - (Actually tricked into thinking he'd succeeded and playing right into the bad guy's hands--even worse! I thought 00's were supposed to be clever spies who can smell traps.)

Protect M: Failed - She was killed by the villian despite Bond having hours to prepare and fighting on his (literally) home turf.

Recapture the Villian - Failed. Bond killed him; which is what he wanted--to die along with M. Instead he died a few seconds before M.

Based on his performance in this movie, 007 should be fired.
