That's about realistic as you can get. You said you wanted realism.

I don't believe your reading correctly...I didn't say I wanted realism, someone else said that...and I knew about the maggots. Guess we listened or read the same story.

Was looking at Fandango just now and "The Revenant" showed a 77 for critics' ratings--
Surprised at that low a score so looked and there are only 2 ratings below 100--a 95 and 88--77--and 6 or 7 100s===
So why a 77? Did it just not pull up other lower scores???

I am surprised so many people are raving about it. I really didn't think it was THAT good. I found it to be slightly above average. Sans for the first hour I don't think it was that intense, interesting or engaging. I think Mad Max Fury Road is 10x better than this and that had my eyes glued to screen the entire time and really pulled me in, and that movie had even less of a plot and I feel the cinematography in that one was albeit less beautiful but more unique.

no two people ever think alike....while some of us loved it, others did not...plus you have to account for all those who didn't vote....
I took an older woman with me, and she thought it was quite graphic, to much so for her....
and it was, but....did I mind it, sometimes I couldn't look....but thought it was a tremendous movie.

Others like realism, or the story line wasn't for them....of course in the m ovie, they couldn't show that it probably took him a year or so to heal from his wounds...and some people are not able to grasp that if it isn't shown in a movie.....

actually I don't understand why your surprised? And I'm not trying to be contrary, but surprised you don't get it....

not everyone feels the same way about anything...there are some who will love it, some who will not, others who deem it so, so....and it's all ok.

It is the MATH--not the fact that critics disagree or have separate opinions
How can you have a CRITICS score of 77 when there is NO score at all in the 70s--
That I saw by a critic---not a general viewer...

I loved Mad Max as well, but I felt Revenant was spectacular. The Revenant is much more of a "slow burn" type of film, where Mad Max was basically a two hour thrill ride from start to finish.

As much as I love Tom Hardy and Mad Max (a top 5 movie of 2015 for me), Leo gave so much more with his performance in The Revenant.
