PBS is showing a lot of programming for Black History Month, and I ran across this on Independent Lens, which was interesting - about the black political movement at the time, but the starting point is Griffith's epic movie "Birth of a Nation" and the reaction, which is very interesting. With footage of Griffith himself, too.

Read that Birth of a Nation (most racist movie in US history probably) was first motion picture to be shown in the White House ==
by Woodrow Wilson who apparently was pretty big racist his own self...
