McCloud: Manhattan Manhunt
(roughly https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0644817/?ref_=tt_ep_nx )

A little bit irked now to find what I have in my box set is a combination of two movies with cuts here and there. I was a little bit suspiscious around the final chase scene where there was a prominent brunette in the car....and then she wasn't....and now I know why. I'll have to see if I have the other episode on the bonus disk.

BUT OTHER THAN THAT....a pretty good flick, even to the steely eyes of the Marshal when dealing with jerks. A 6.7.

Downton Abbey: A New Era. Only the second movie I've seen since the beginning of 2020. It was a lot better than the first movie.

Arcane Sorcerer: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115564/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt

A rather obscure occult mystery/horror flick which , in spite of its somewhat inconclusive ending , is still rather good IMHO .

Must see for fans of obscure occult themed movies .

When I saw your post I thought......What was part one of Stillwater (which I haven't seen) ?

I scanned the Wikipedia page (not wanting to read too much because I don't want to spoil it before I see it) and realized there is no 'Part 1'.

With the OP's 'e.e. cummings-esque' lack of capitalization and punctuation in the thread title, I thought the OP meant the last movie that I saw the second part of/the sequel to.

I looked back through the thread and some posters looked at the thread title the same way I did, and others (including you) thought that it meant a second thread on 'what is the last movie you watched'.

I just read post #1, and it is the latter.

Right now I'm watching Cake (which is on Tubi). It's quite a departure for Jennifer Anniston.

Geisha of Death
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5216674/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_3

A pretty darn good movie from the bargain bin. There are only so many original stories, that's what Edison said, so it is not surprise that one could see so many references in this flick from Aliens/Predator, Buffy, Defiance, Kill Bill, The Hidden, Formula 51, Johnny Quest, a few John Woo flicks......to say a few......but it does it so well, not focusing on a particular one, but telling a good story. The gore is exquisite but not over the top, the unanswered questions are eventually answered if one watches closely enough, and in the end, those questions that aren't answered don't matter because the characters realize....."Never mind why it is doing this, how do we kill the damn thing?".

The fight scenes are 3 types: guns, katanas, and Hth (judo). The guns not too much except for showing how easy it is to be taken to lunch. The katanas are pretty nice but not overwhelming. As my basic HtH discipline is judo, I recognized so many moves and it may have even brought the movie closer to home to me since I started judo on Clark AFB......and this movie is based in Manila.

A down side is that most of the movie is in Tagalog https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagalog_language which is a language that I know only to identify it as that and nothing else, so the subtitles are necessary but as such, by focusing on those, one can miss the little tidbits of the flick that heighten the tension.

Finally, it is a lesson of why to have a dining room table, so one can have Ghostbuster war conferences. A 9.3.

Kill Mode

Not too bad of an unknown sci fi flick. Nice toys, nice jerks, nice comedy relief and a creation of telepathy similar to "Dream Games" https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/sh...62.Dream_Games (if I recall correctly). It spends a heck of a long time on one scene and it may fail to wrap the movie up in the end, depending on one's interpretation, but it is decent for a pass. A 4.5.

McCloud: The Stage is All The World

The original "half" of what I saw on Thursday before it was meshed together with another episode. A 8.8 because Richard Dawson plays someone you really do want to skewer.

Sort of like "Point of No Return" expanded from a few parts. In fact, it's a lot like that because it does pull from the "My Fair Lady" story, if you see it, that the "Nikita" types stories come from. Still, it's worth a look for the ~100 minutes escape it provides.......don't bother to count the shots. A 6.5.

Goliath and the Dragon

A little faded but a decent flick with heroes, damsels in distress, sly good looking ones, handsome second men, dispicable villains, cute monsters, and decent mass battles. A 7.6.
