Well, EH! As mysteries go, I don't know where this one fits. There are dead bodies, but we don't know the cause of death. There are additions to the story, vital but then they are only there for the scene. We have suspects but no case details are ever revealed of them. When we finally get down to who the killer is, it is that they just did it, just appeared if out of thin air at the right place and the right time and just did it. This is more a story about dysfunctional day to day life than about a murder mystery. A 2.0.
Must be dysfunctional day. We watched "The People We Hate at the Wedding," a comedy. Didn't know if I was going to be able to hang in there or not. So much of what is considered humorous today is downright painful. But I got into the (mean) spirit of the thing after a while and saw it through.
It reached a point where "whaddya gonna do but laugh" and served up enough sappy, sentimental candy to try to offset the misery and humiliation. It might better serve the under-forty crowd.
Yes, this film, based on true events, is a difficult watch for sure. Constant dread and tension…I had to remind myself to relax. It was a rollercoaster of emotions.
I'm going to put this on a double feature with "Sunshine" 2007. Astronauts fly to the sun to re-ignite it.
They seem uncomfortably timely right now with all the tantrums our star is having.
To each their own but to me, they are in different ballparks. It would be like a double feature of "Poseidon Adventures".
