At 2 hours, 45 minutes, I thought I was going have to make this a 2 day movie, but I couldn't, it was impossible to put down. It is very refreshing especially for dashing the panic of the end of the weekend and that Monday is only a few hours away. Further, it encouraged me to make an evening pot of coffee. I bought it during a Claudia Cardinale buying spree and it is interesting to note that a movie made in the late 60s would have a woman in the top billing, especially since it has such he-men as Bronson, Fonda, and Robards. The photography is excellent, lots of classical techniques for excellent results. A 10.0.
Braveheart is a 1995 American epic historical fiction war film directed and co-produced by Mel Gibson, who portrays William Wallace, a late-13th-century Scottish warrior. The film depicts the life of Wallace leading the Scots in the First War of Scottish Independence against King Edward I of England.
I am sure I have seen this flick before, probably even noted it here......but it must have been back when I was drinking, so it is like new this time around. It's 1935, it is part of a serial, and provided you are not contaminated by MST3K (where if you are, as one commenter observed, such viewers are conditioned to slash any old movie), it is enjoyable to watch....especially if you don't have much time. One of the things about this flick is that there are sections of minutes of the surrounding scenery without any dialogue. Enjoy or zip through at your pleasure. A 7.0 but not so much for the story but more for the photography of back then, how they made a story fly, diabotical fates, and that Tarzan should be a man with a great body without an ounce of fat and a chiseled face.
