We went to see Manchester by the Sea and we thought it was a very well done story about family tragedy and responsibility.
It was a well acted and directed film-----if you are in the mood for an uplifting and mood elevating movie---it is not. It is a sad story, but I do recommend it as a very fine production and a great independent production.
The Eagle Huntress, about a 13-year-old girl in Mongolia, who decides she wants to take up the male vocation of hunting with eagles. You'd be surprised how easy it is to domesticate a wild eagle. All you have to do is feed it raw meat regularly.
Anyway, the kid is cute, and has a gift for being an eagle-whisperer. She upsets the local establishment by winning first prize in the annual eagle-handling competition.

My wife and I saw it yesterday, and we were bored to death. I am glad you enjoyed it, however.
One of my main gripes was that the director dragged out a lot of scenes for no apparent reason, like when the mother of the girlfriend (of the boy) stood outside next to the car of Casey. I think the film ran 2 hours 15 minutes, and it could easily have been 90 minutes.
Anyway, I certainly agree that one should not go to this movie expecting an 'uplifting' movie. Indeed, my favorite part was easily the beginning, when we watched the Casey character interact with various apartment dwellers of the building in which he was a janitor or handyman.
Anyway, many appreciated the movie; we, in our 60s, did not. Just be forewarned that it is a rather long movie.
A man and his wife are struggling financially because the wife has cancer. Her treatments cost $300 per visit and his insurance has stopped paying. He tries to cash in his investments only to find out they have been stolen by the dishonest crooks on wall street. He is dealing with that, he starts getting collection and foreclosure letters, his wife kills herself because she blames herself for their financial struggles. He gets fired from his job. He starts plotting to take down the crooks at wall street, one by one until they are all dead. He goes into the office wearing a mask and shoots everyone who works at the company of the broker who sold him the stocks. He ends up getting away, vowing to keep killing and seeking justice.
The Accountant is the last one I can remember. I know I went with my adult kids and saw something else more recently, but it (obviously) was not memorable. I cannot remember what it was.
