Watched "Mud" this past weekend. I thought it got a little slow at times, but was overall worth a look. I get bored easily

Raises hand. Yes, PL, absolutely. That's why we watch mostly foreign, indie, documentaries, an occasional classic... but like someone else said, I bore easily, too, so am ready to yank out a DVD or change the channel faster than Weiner can text an 'I never sexted with that woman, not one time... oops, she has a pic... nevermind' excuse. I just can't do mainstream H'wood... not my cuppa tea. But, that's why we really do implement the 10-min rule in the PTwist adobe hut. If anyone doesn't like the movie after 10-min... pop in another DVD.

And, the SO doesn't like it much, but, if we're at the theatre & I'm bored, I tell him I'm going 'round the corner for coffee & to meet me afterwards. He always comes in dreary-faced, saying it was a horrible movie, but he opts to stay to the end so he can get his $'s worth. I try to remind him that his time is worth more than a few dollars, especially when served with a bad plot. Oh, well... fortunately, we agree on most movies, don't see many of them as we'd rather do something than see something & I've only walked out on a couple. These pink, strappy, suede sandals were made for walkin'...

Been watching the old TV sci-fi series "Star Trek Voyager" 7 seasons. Just half way there. Didn't know I missed so many episodes! I still enjoy seeing 7 of 9 on the show!

Animal Kingdom, 2010. Australian film starring Guy Pearce. Recommended on another forum, just finished the netflix dvd. Teen's mom dies from od, lives with grandmother. During the call to tell his grandmother his mom died (her daughter), he says: do you want to know where we live? Boy got to live with grandma. Grandmother lives with her sons and it's a nest of crime. Story builds to it's ending climax. Excellent film.

The last movie I saw was a documentary, "Pressure Cooker" and I was teary eyed at the end. It follows high school seniors in Philadelphia, at Frankford High School's culinary arts program. The teacher, Wilma Stephenson at first was really hard to like. She's very outspoken and at times seems confrontation - but was able to portray that behind all of her criticism and harsh tones was a woman that wanted the best for her students. It was interesting to follow the lives of these kids.

Here's a short news story of Ms. Stephenson that I found on YouTube:

The Pawn shop chronicles -Vincent D'Anofrio, Matt Dillon and Brendan Fraser were among the cast. A bizarre, violent and often funny film divided into 3 stories involving the titular pawn shop in a small town. Brendan's stage act as an Elvis impersonator has to be seen to be believed.
