Can anybody tell me the name of the artist who had Billboard top twenty hits that included songs about cannibals, an answering machine, a popular Puerto Rican vacation libation, and a pronoun?

Rupert Holmes. I got the Piña Colada ("Escape") and the Answering Machine (follow-up to "Escape") and "Him", but not the cannibals.

These two guys have something in common, not the guitars (don't look it up):

Brian May of Queen

Dexter Holland of The Offspring

It's probably no surprise that lots of actors sing and lots of singers act, but here's a couple of examples that you might not be aware of.

Robert Mitchum sings the theme from his 1958 movie Thunder Road.

Dennis Wilson (of the Beach Boys) and James Taylor star in Two Lane Blacktop.

Here's a bit of trivia for you guys. Bruce Springsteen's daughter, Jessica, rides show jumpers and the last time I saw her in a show (on YouTube) she was riding a horse called - Hungry Heart.

I did know that! Bruce lives on a $6 million horse farm a few miles from me but in a very different neighborhood from mine. . Still, according to the owner of the farm stand in his town where I shop, we buy our veggies in the same place. His daughter was on the US equestrian team, which won a silver medal in the 2020 Olympics.

I knew May had the PhD so I figured it was something like that, but didn't know about Dexter.

You can watch the shows on Youtube right now. As soon as I get real computer access, though, I'm going to watch them live through FEI. Bruce showed up with his wife at one show his daughter rode in. She's a very good rider.

There's a chat on the side of the YouTube shows and some people were really putting down Jessica and also Bill Gates' daughter Jennifer, who also rides. I was trying to tell them that it takes major hard work, time, and skill to get to the level these ladies are at. Their fathers didn't buy that for them!

I was watching the shows through 2019 when I moved. That's when I didn't have a computer any more. I'm using my neighbor's WiFi (with permission) and now I'm catching up a bit with them. I missed the 2020 Olympics.
