I've listened for years to Elvis songs without knowing that was Elvis. It was mostly in stores in the USA, it wasn't as if I intentionally decided to listen to these songs. They became a favorite of mine, but not to the point of actually owning a song or two by Elvis, in part because I didn't know that was him. Lately I became aware that I've been listening to and enjoying some of Elvis' songs. I was shocked, I had no clue Elvis was behind those songs. Immediately I went to iTunes and went through every song by Elvis available and purchase what I like, including old favorites that I finally discovered them because, alas, now I know who the singer is. lol I ended up buying around 20 songs in total, perhaps more.
I was also in shock when I heard his Gospel music and how good he was. Again, I previously heard a few but didn't know who was the singer. I bought many of his Gospel songs too. I've seen the more secular songs in this thread, so the following are gospels of his but in no way means that I value them more than the others. Relaxing songs.
There are others by him that are simply beautiful.
I have it as a goal once this Covid thing passes to pay my respect to the man by visiting his home and resting place in Tennessee. I already saw the property on Google Earth, simply beautiful. He was one of the best things the US has created for the enjoyment of the world!
Long live Elvis!
