Can anyone recommend a financially stable, reliable homeowners insurance in Naples? I've been looking and insurance in Florida is all over the map.
I have State Farm in Illinois and having a hard time trying to find an insurance company that would actually cover any extraordinary expenses. Wind. Hurricane ,etc. There are tons of agencies, have gotten many quotes. Not sure where to go.
Any suggestions would be helpful
Thanks

For Naples in general there are a couple of major variables.

1) location to the Gulf. Are you looking west of 41? Between 41 and 75, or east of 75? Makes a big difference.

2) hurricane mitigation in line with the current code. If you have a new CBS house with roof tie downs, hurricane-resistant glass, reinforced garage doors, etc. then you will get more mitigation credits when compared with say a 1960’s stick-built house with none of these.

So an older house west of 41 will cost a multiple per year than new construction east of 75.

Any insurer will probably have a 5% hurricane deductible.

We just went thru that exercise. It was down to St. Johns and Tower Hill. Both showed good ratings from a search on the web. We would up going with St. Johns.
Oh-and it was thru the Naples Agency.

That's who I used as well (St Johns). Never had to file a claim but the price was competitive. I went through my Allstate agency that I used for auto insurance.

When I lived there, I used Tower Hill. Get quotes from the ones mentioned in this thread. FWIW, I had State Farm in Illinois too and I have it again in Nevada. Too expensive for homeowner's in FL.

Tower Hill is what has been recommended. Thanks You. I heard it's more expensive, but that's okay if it gives me peace of mind--

I would choose whichever is cheaper for the same coverage between Tower Hill and St Johns.
