I am a single mom moving to the area soon. I'm considering Hendersonville or Spring Hill and would love to hear pro's and con's of both. I'm looking for a strong public school system but can't afford to live in Franklin although there's where most of the job opportunities in my field are located. My daughter is gifted and has an IEP, I would like to find a good school for her. And since I'm single it would be ideal to be around some other singles and have good hang outs spots. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hendersonville has a good magnet school if you could get her into it. It's also closer to the city. My deciding factor would be where your job is located. If you are working downtown or north of Nashville, I would pick Hendersonville. If you are working in Brentwood or Franklin, I would pick Spring Hill.

I agree with BG. The decision between these two areas could weigh heavily on where you're working. Neither will be super easy to get to if you work on the opposite side of town, particularly Hendersonville. Both are nice suburbs, though.

I live in Hendersonville and love it but if i had to commute to Franklin everyday, i would move. Its 45 minutes in no traffic. I would guess its well over an hour at rush hour.

Agreed 100%. I live in Hendersonville and worked in Cool Springs for about 6 months before relocating to downtown. I would not do that commute again unless I had no other choice.

Otherwise, I absolutely love Sumner County/Hendersonville.
