Check out the link to the website below that will give you cost of living comparisons between cities:

Cost of Living - Cost of Living Calculator from CNNMoney

It would be fairly difficult giving you the specific information you asked for because there are to many variables to consider(i.e., where you live, type of car leased, energy usage, etc.). Hope the website helps.

Thanks for your reply gbone, I will check the website.

I will try to be more specific:
1. My older dautgher will learn in USN and my little ones will go to the JCC. I have no idea where will I live. It will help if you can name the neibourhoods near these schools.
2. I will have vehicle from my employye. I need a car for my wife (with kids 3/9/12). I think TOYOTA CAMRY or similar type will fit.
3. whats the average expense for feeding 5 persons per month ?

Thanks

Welcome to the US! I have toured quite a bit of Israel and love it! I'm going to "try" to give you an idea, but definitely just use this as a guide.

The JCC is near Bellevue, but it's also near other areas in West Nashville. The USN is also in West Nashville, but definitely closer to the city than the JCC. So some neighborhoods you could consider that is relatively close to one or the other are: Sylvan Park, West End, Edgehill, 12 South, Belmont, Waverly, Hillsboro Village, Green Hills. Certainly, housing will be cheaper in the Bellevue area, but it might be a long commute to the USN. You could also easily find a 4 bedroom house to rent in Bellevue (which is still within Nashville's city limits). Rent depends on what your budget is. It depends on location, square footage, type of property, etc. so if you wanted a very spacious, nice place you could easily pay $2500/month. On the flip side, you could find something that would fit your family snugly for $1000 - $1500 or so. Again, those numbers are just a guide...and they will vary depending your budget and requirements.

Utilities also vary, but again, I'll try to give you a "rough" guide for a moderate sized place. I would assume cable could be anywhere between $50 - $100 month, depending on the options; gas relatively inexpensive in summer...if the place has gas heat...it could be $200/month in winter months (3-4 months of year). Again, if heat is gas, your electric bill would be moderate in winter ($50 or so) and then higher in months of air conditioning... $150+/month several months out of the year. Water is usually inexpensive...maybe $20/month.
Here's a list of cars for sale in the Nashville area that have been posted to a local site called craigslist...check that out for possible car options.
nashville cars & trucks classifieds - craigslist (broken link)

As for food, that will vary too. I know people who feed a family of 5 for as little as $400/month, but then others that require several hundred more dollars per month to do that.
