Cool here at the coast tonight...earlier saw
migrating Monarch butterflies, just fluttering south along the beach, Great Egrets, Great Blue Heron.

An anole, small green lizard, found it's way inside-gathered him up in 2 hands to quickly put outside...but: the little guy was frightened so he wiggled out and bit the underside of my forearm, then would not let go...lifted my arm up and he was still just hanging there!

A pleasant day/evening to all

Yesterday afternoon a juvenile hawk was hanging around in my backyard trees. Cool to look at. The scene got more interesting and fun, though, when two squirrels started chasing the hawk. One squirrel in particular kept climbing to wherever the hawk perched in the tree and then would lunge at the hawk, scaring the hawk away. The hawk would circle above for a moment and then would perch again in another part of the tree. Then the squirrel would chase him away again. It was very comical!

This is a crummy photo, but at least you can see a little what the hawk looked like!

Wife and I and our daughter along with our 2 Ggirls went downtown today. We went to Hemisfair Park ..site of the 1968' World's Fair! Under the Shadow the Tower of the America's is a great park. Water displays and huge wooden play yard for kids.. and squirrels.

We went to the beach this weekend and there were gatherings (colonies?) of some kind of bivalves as the waves rolled out. Hundreds of them would appear, then start moving and squirming, burrowing down into the sand. Creepy but cool.

My dog was not terribly impressed, but the shells you see in the picture weren't even half of what we saw.

Found a little brown lizard of some sort on the shop floor today. So chilly he was barely moving. Put him back outside next to a log where he's got a choice of heading into the woods or finding a winter spot under the log.

That does sound creepy, but cool.
