Having a year-round stream on my property acts as "magnet" for the various specie of wildlife that are passing thru my area or live within 100yd to 300yd of my house, especially as we get further into July, August, Sept and Oct.
About 7am this morning I looked out the deck door toward the stream, and approx 30 yard from the house was a Whitetail Doe standing "Nose to Beak" with a **** Pheasant ., both were motionless about 24 inches apart, just starring at each other....it took about 3 minutes for the pheasant to realize he better back-off, and retreat......I'm sure the doe had a fawn somewhere in the bushes 30 or 40 feet behind her.
Never have seen that happen before in 38 years on this property.
The deer could be sizing-up that pheasant as a possible meal.
