We requested a relocation packet from the Kearney Chamber of Commerce and have been flooded with welcoming e-mails and phone calls! It's wonderful! Is it the job of these people to recruit us to their town, or is everyone there so warm and friendly?
I would love some honest opinions and some information on the renting situation. Thank you in advance for all your help.

People are pretty friendly usually, but yes they are also trying to recruit you to town. Kearney is a good town, IMO. The renting situation is pretty good, being a college town helps in this department. I would stay away from some apartments on D street, they seem to have problems. The hub is usually the best place to find rentals.

I get down to Kearney now and again. I have always found Kearney to be shining star for Nebraska as one of our top towns. Kearney has a nice mall, wife enjoys going there always. Just a good all around town. You are going to like it there. I can't really help you much on rentals, but Tpabes has sure got you started.

Welcome to Nebraska.
