Thanks for the advice & suggestions on my vacation to Meredith last month! Again, we had a great time!
Anyway, I would like other suggestions on towns to visit for a 2-3 day get away the last week of Nov.
Any suggestions on towns similar to Meredith? I would like to stay south of Meredith this time around due to travel distance/time.
We will be moving to the northern lakes region soon, but often travel to Portsmouth when we want to go someplace different. Not like Meredith, but it does have many great restaurants and pubs. If you haven't been there, it is a good time to go and lodging is extremely reasonable this time of year.
When you write 'the last week of Nov.", do you mean the week of Thanksgiving, or the week after?
We have no sales tax so the Black Friday sales on Nov.25 will be great for out-of-Staters. Also on Saturday, Nov.26, the city of Nashua will hold it's annual "Holiday Stroll" and tree lighting. It's kind of a big deal.
If you are coming the week after...well, there won't be as much going on with everyone unwinding from the Thanksgiving weekend.

Yes, the day after Thanksgiving I plan on traveling
Thanks!
I agree with the suggestion of the seacoast town of Portsmouth and the surrounding area. this is only about a 45 min drive from Manchester Airport and, although subdued after the Summer season is still quite pleasant. If you do go to Portsmouth take the time to drive North on Rt 1 and visit Bob's Clam Hut next to the Kittery Trading Post. The Clam Hut has very fresh fish, clams and lobster.
You could go most any direction from Manchester airport, except due south and have a great time. North to the mountains. NW to Sunapee or Lebanon/Hanover/Cornell. E to Portsmouth et al. SW to the Monadnocks with their prototypical New England villages.
Portsmouth is a very quaint harbor town with some nice shops and cafes and lots of older homes. Nothing like having some steamed mussels while looking out at the tugs in the harbor. There are a couple of nice coastal parks nearby - Odiorne Point on the NH side and Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge on the Kittery Point, ME side. Around the Great Bay area closeby, Dover, Newmarket and Exeter are all really nice small towns that have an old downtown commercial district that's fun to walk around in and explore, and you might like to check out Adams Point Wildlife Management Area, off Durham Point Road - kind of between Dover and Newmarket, on the water.
